Unstoppable

Well I have survived yet another migraine! (insert holy harp music here)  It is on day two and I am still feeling the after affects of this monster headache which pretty much debilitated me yesterday, and has me dragging ass today.  I was up for probably a total of 2 hours yesterday and that was to take more meds and go to the bathroom.  The minute I was done with said bathroom trips and knocking back another almost useless pill I would slink back into a very, very, dark and quiet room and try to get to sleep. It was at this point that I began to talk to myself like Gollum.  Precious and I discussed how it would be to our relief to just remove my head.  It would work wonders if we could do that. I even grabbed my phone from the bedside table and thought of hitting old Google for guillotine rentals. (261,000 results if you're curious) I did realize I would probably need my head attached in the coming days and would not want to be known round my hood...

Tis the season!

It is that time of year again!  No, not Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas!  I am talking the event that all word smiths, tale spinners and wanna bes covet about all other times of the year.  NaNoWriMo, Nationl Novel Writing Month, that time when in the whole month of November participants make a commitment to reach 50 k words and write and entire novel by November's end, and in doing so you can proclaim to the world that you "won".    This is a fabulous opportunity and can be very inspiring. It can also be maddening and frustrating if you focus too much energy on reaching your word count.  My first time out I became very frustrated and very depressed that I was not up to par with my daily word count and by NaNo's closing day had only written 32 K words.   I was so sad I could not shout about winning!  That is until my other half pointed out that I was not seeing the fact that I had written over 30 THOUSAND WORDS IN A MONTH...

The time is now

Today I learned of the passing of one of my ildles, Tom Clancy. I was very saddened by this especially seeing his age. He was only 66 years old.  Now I realize many people would say, 66!  I am not one of those.  I do not think 66 is that long in the tooth.  However I digress.  My ramblings today are not about age in and of itself.  My post is more about time, the lack thereof and procrastination.      How many times have you sat around and said, I wish it were Friday already, or, I can't wait for Christmas?  I myself have said these things before.  It's something we just don't think about, just things that everyone says, right?   Yes, I suppose they are just those insignificant little things that all of us say now and againg.  Little human responses to times in our lives when perhaps we wish for easier days, or happier circumstances.   I know that my own mother used to tell me to never w...

Sky net is alive and controlling my printer

It's no secret around my all in one laser printer hates me. I believe this thing was built by sky net and much like the terminator it's mission is to destroy me. Yes, like a cyberdine systems T 101 and Sarah Connor the aio and I are not simpatico. I know what you are thinking. You are thinking, " Lady...get a newer one and your problems are solved!" I am here to tell you that this is not a bulky, loud easy to spot, machine. One you could easily avoid and hide from upon hearing it clunk around the corner. No, this is a fresh just months off the line model, that is sleek and very well camouflaged. He sits quietly waiting for me to interact...or should I say react to it. ( it's very taunting by the way) My latest battle with this cyborg was over the fact that it insisted I had no black ink left in my cartridge. This could not be further from the truth but said demon is insistent on using my very low colors to print with. Now after many attempts of reinstalling t...

Age, rules, and tattoos

I have long been a fan of tattoos.  I have several and the ink gods willing I WILL  have more.  My tattoo journey is a different one that most.   I entered into my first tattoo collaboration later than most of my friends and from what I have seen most of the ink bearers in the world.  I was well into my adulthood when I first went under the needle.    There were many factors in this. Factor number one Pregnancy. Some of you may know that I do have a lot of children.  I have them in the double digits and am VERY PROUD  to talk about it to whoever will feign an interest in them.  Oh yeah...I'm one of those, but i digress.  It is this multitude of children who kept my ink dreams at bay.   You can't get a tattoo if you are pregnant and or breast feeding.  Trust me I tried. ( I know bad mommy, please no judgies)  I would wander in shops in different parts of the country over the years and gaze...

Bitches be stalking

Image
I know that a lot of people are reeling over this whole stalking the star thing and yes it is horrid and a little bit slasher movie scary that someone would go to such great lengths to find said actor/actress and track them down.  What in Hades do they think will happen if they find them?  That they'll become best friends, lovers?  Do they think they'll laugh it off and go skipping hand in hahd through the meadow away in the distance, drinking sparkling water, eating strawberries and living happily ever after??????  UMMMMM NO. I will tell you what will happen. They'll skip on down to the poky with a restraining order slapped on them plus possibly a dozen other charges and perhaps nursing several wounds from having their ass kicked by said actor/actress, the police, body guards, spouse of actor/ actress.   Who has time for that crap? I mean I barely have time to adore from yahoo's home page, twitter, or Facebook.   Seriously...who h...

Most of my close friends know that I really do love all things British.  I mean I really, really, think I was British in a former life!  I was, I am pretty sure I whispered in the Queen mum's ear at one point in her pre throneship and said,  Lizzy, this is gonna be ride!  (Ok, ok, so I probably didn't have with Queen Elizabeth or any other queen when they were just wee lassies. ) She was like....     I actually think I have a fascination of a country that is so full of history and so beautifully old.  I guess that would be Europe in general.  Now don't get me wrong I love my country and perhaps it is the grass is greener syndrome grabbing hold of me and calling me, but we didn't exactly start here did we. Well my ancestors sure didn't and perhaps it could be wanting to follow ones roots. \Were someone called me right now and say, OK we have your passport and you bags are  packed you have an all expense paid trip to back p...
